The STAR Foundation of Coastal Georgia will officially usher in the 2021 summer season with its inaugural pre-holiday weekend Low Country Boil fundraiser, STARgazing, on Thursday, May 27th from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at Village Creek Landing. The evening of coastal, casual fun will feature music by Owen Plant, a low country boil and appetizers by Halyards, and a not-to-be-missed “Crazy Pants” contest for gentlemen guests, one of whom will be crowned STAR’s Crazy Pants Shrimp King. “Like all charities, STAR missed holding its 2020 fall fundraiser last year due to the pandemic. Is a common question that we receive from our donors who want to make a positive impact on the lives of adults and families in the community Last year STAR received a call from someone who had not worked with us previously. The call was to discuss an idea on how to help families in Brunswick, but they were not sure where, or how to implement their plan. Opportunity STAR was notified that a generous donor was interested in supporting a single mother who was working her way out of poverty.  The goal was to aid the parent in establishing an income that would more fully support her family’s…
