Graduation – Fall Class 2017
Goodbye Fall Class 2017 – we wish you much success!
On December 7, 2017, the staff, Board of Directors, Friends of STAR, and family of our graduates gathered at the College of Coastal Georgia to bid farewell to our Fall Class 2017.
What a journey!
For two months we laughed and cried with this group as we helped them turn their dreams into goals.
Although they faced tough weekly tests, they stood strong and received Certificates of Completion from STAR Foundation’s Employment Readiness Program.
At graduation, College of Coastal Georgia Interim President, Dr. Margaret Amstutz, delivered a moving speech about staying determined, despite life’s obstacles. Each graduate said something brief about the STAR Word of the Day that meant the most to her—like Perseverance, Determination, Honesty, Empowerment—and STAR Foundation’s Executive Director, Cheryl Isaac, spoke to guests about how those words are ingrained in the fabric of STAR’s mission. Finally, STAR’s Board Member, Joan Campbell, addressed students about diligence and thanked them for being a part of the STAR Family.
